The Wanderer

There are some songs you write that gain new meaning as time goes by. This is one of them. It was actually written by the guitarist of the Matt Jacobs Band, Thijs Jacobs, who also came up with the title, but I wrote the lyrics. The title of course, speaks for itself. The lyrics are not biographical in any way. It's just the theme that fits my current state.

I am a wanderer
A restless lonely soul
I go wherever the winds may blow

The roads they keep on changin’
Cause I’ve got nowhere to go
Got no place to call my home

I am a wanderer
I am a wanderer
A restless soul

Now I had my taste of family
Been workin’ nine to five
But I kept one eye on the door

I was born under a bad sign
Never quite fit in
Now I don’t need to anymore

I am a wanderer
I am a wanderer
I got nowhere left to go

I was born under a bad sign
Never quite fit in
Now I don’t need to anymore

Cause this road leads to an end
And the Devil he may take me
He’s been with me through it all

I am a wanderer
I am a wanderer
I got nowhere left to go

I am a wanderer
I am a wanderer
I got nowhere left to go

Now I know the Devil ‘ll take me
Just like me he don’t fit in
And I don’t need to anymore
I don’t need to anymore
